What to Expect
Frederick smiles dental care believes that a healthy mouth is the foundation of a beautiful smile. We take a proactive approach to preventative dental care. Your first visit will begin with a new patient exam and pre-clinical consultation. During this appointment, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your concerns and goals with doctors and tour our office.
Our dental examinations typically include:
- Screening for tooth decay, cavities and fractures
- Recording existing tooth conditions and restorations
- Periodontal screening to check for signs of gum disease
- Oral cancer screening
- Occlusal and TMJ evaluation
- Digital dental x-rays when needed
Our doctors will advise on a dental cleaning schedule which may be included as part of your first visit. If you have signs of gum disease, tooth decay or extensive tooth wear, we may schedule your dental cleaning on a future visit.
